But sometimes blogs are not meant to be long term. Mine personally has been up for just about two years (not always as a blog) and never had adsense. But I started a blog that I intended to sell later on and included adsense and direct advertising right off the bat. I looked at it as a way not to sell out what traffic it was getting when the time came to sell. You never know what the next owner will do and people would rather a site always have ads then drop them instead of the vise versa.
